| April, 2008: | The New York Power Authority selected Astoria Energy LLC to enter into a 20-year PPA for a new 500 MW gas-fired combined cycle project, subject to final negotiations. LAI provided extensive commercial advisory support to NYPA and its New York City governmental customers, including engineering, economic, and regulatory analyses. |
| April, 2008: | LAI sponsored Platt’s 3rd Annual Northeast Power Markets Forum on April 28/29 in Washington DC. Richard Levitan spoke and moderated a panel on the Northeast’s Regulatory Frameworks and Investment Potential. |

| December, 2007: | The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) issued an order in Docket No. 07-0527 approving the Ameren Illinois Utilities initial procurement plan that identified the portfolio of power and energy products to be procured in an upcoming RFP for the period June 2008 through May 2009. The ICC also approved the selection of LAI as the Procurement Administrator. LAI will design and implement the procurement RFPs, manage the procurement process, and evaluate bids received for energy, capacity and renewable energy credits. |
| December, 2007: | LAI prepared a report that quantifies the costs and benefits of both conventional and unconventional resource options that are available to meet the State of Maryland’s long-term energy requirements. The Task 3 report, prepared with Kaye Scholer LLP and SEMCAS Consulting, is part of an assignment designed to assist State policymakers in making choices among discrete resource options. The Task 3 report was published on November 30, 2007 and can be found on the Maryland Public Service commission website. |

| August, 2007: | LAI has completed a comprehensive assessment of the proposed Broadwater LNG import terminal for the Long Island Power Authority. Our assessment covered the market and economic impacts of the proposed terminal, as well as technology, environmental, and safety / security issues associated issues. | May, 2007: | LAI has completed a high-level analysis of wind potential in New England for ISO New England as part of their Scenario Analysis process. Our analysis, “Technical Assessment of Onshore and Offshore Wind Generation Potential in New England”, quantified the maximum theoretical wind generation potential for both onshore and offshore sites. In addition, the report analyzed publicly available historic wind data in New England in order to quantify wind speed patterns and variability. | September, 2006: | Richard Levitan and Ellen Cool of LAI provided testimony before the Connecticut DPUC regarding the conduct and outcome of the wholesale power procurement conducted by United Illuminating and Connecticut Light and Power for Standard Service and Supplier of Last Resort Service. LAI also evaluated the cost-effectiveness of a financial option that would convey benefits to ratepayers in the event of a material decline in market energy prices after wholesale supply contracts were executed. |
| June, 2006: | Seth Parker participated in a June 7th FERC Technical Conference on the PJM's proposed Reliability Pricing Model (RPM) on behalf of four generation companies. He will be addressing the cost of new entry, the shape and zero-crossing point of the VRR demand curve, net energy and ancillary service revenues, and other key parameters. |

| John Bitler presentated on March 29 at the Syngas Refiner Workshop regarding Comparative IGCC Economics for Plants Using Different North American Coal Feed Stocks. He reviewed the economics of IGCC using coal feed stocks sourced from Northern Appalachia, the Illinois Basin, the Powder River Basin and the Gulf Coast relative to natural gas combined cycle and pulverized coal plants. |
| February, 2006: | Phil Curlett spoke at the 19th Annual IDEA Campus Energy Conference on the Energy Master Plan prepared by LAI that evaluated alternative steam and power technologies in an uncertain environment. |
